About CHCR

The Centre for Health and Community Research (CHCR) is located at the University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI). CHCR members and staff work collaboratively to develop and promote original and innovative research. Our dedicated team supports and advances service delivery and public policy in pressing areas that directly impact health care and community needs throughout Prince Edward Island, the Maritimes and Canada.

The CHCR team represents the PEI location of the Maritime SPOR SUPPORT Unit (MSSU) and Health Data Research Network (HDRN), including the SPOR Canadian Data Platform. As part of these collaborations, we are committed to integrating health research into patient care, contributing to enhancing health systems and policies and improving health outcomes. Both networks are part of the Strategy for Patient-Oriented Research (SPOR) initiative of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).

Our team is composed of talented individuals who bring a wealth of experience from a variety of disciplines and sectors. Our greatest strength lies in our ability to work together to capitalize on the diversity of our perspectives and approaches.
